Litigation Legal Secretary
Location: Carlsbad, CA
Compensation: Up to $110,000 DOE
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site | Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
A well-established law firm in Carlsbad is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to support a busy civil litigation practice. This position is ideal for a highly organized professional with strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court filings, calendaring, and deadline management. The firm is looking for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional support to attorneys and clients alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling civil litigation matters.
- Maintain and manage court calendars, including all statutory and court-ordered deadlines.
- Draft, revise, format, and proofread pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Prepare and file documents in California state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, client meetings, and trial preparation.
- Manage electronic and physical case files with exceptional attention to detail.
- Handle e-filing and service of legal documents.
- Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and vendors.
- Assist attorneys with document preparation and other litigation-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of Litigation Legal Secretary experience in a law firm environment.
- Strong working knowledge of civil litigation procedures, court rules, filings, and litigation deadlines.
- Experience preparing pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
- Proficiency with e-filing in California state and federal courts.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
